They organised collections around Edinburgh, and at the Assembly Rooms during the Festival, making over £1,500. And there’s another collection planned for later this year...
12 people from around Scotland walked for Rokpa in The Great Scottish Walk in Edinburgh this summer. Young Andrew Scott, aged 7, was one of them and he made £100. All together £1,300 was raised.
Now is the time to let us know if you want to try and beat that figure on Sunday 10th June, 2007.
Fulmaya & Albert Harris gradually filled a penny bottle in their home and made £108. That's an awful lot of pennies.
In Renfrewshire, Ludon and Brenda Temple have once again been entertaining people at their events, and raised over £500 so far this year.
More of you have been Running for Rokpa in 2006. Thank you to Meera Thomas and Saffron Parker who ran the Glasgow 10K in September. Present estimates are that they have raised nearly £1,000 for the Western medical clinic in Yushu.
And even more of you might want to match this achievement in 2007 by running at your nearest event. Rokpa can help with fundraising ideas, equipment and t-shirts.

Enjoy a walk in Nepal or a journey through Tibet. There are still places left on the Nepal Trek & the Tibet trip but if you were thinking of signing up for the Nepal trek you'll need to be quick. The weekend get-together and practice hill walk is booked for 1st & 2nd December. This is also your chance to ask the CAT trek leader all those questions
Sell goods on E-Bay: Rokpa is now registered as a charity with Mission Fish & EBay. If you register with Mission Fish you can automatically donate a percentage of your sale to Rokpa.
We are raising funds in anticipation of the arrival in 2007 of two Rokpa graduates who have just qualified as Tibetan Medical Doctors. With Tibetan Medicine now becoming more popular, the wild plants used to make medicines are becoming endangered. Rokpa's plan to start medicinal plants nurseries in Tibet needs trained managers. The two students will take part in a course in and around Edinburgh, especially tailored to train them for this work.
A university education costs £50 a month - £25 will support a child at secondary school.
